For several weeks now, there have been numerous legislative attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community, and particularly the Trans community, creating tension and uncertainty for queer families. These events and rulings have brought up many feelings for families within our community: wanting to do more, not knowing how to help, and not knowing how to talk about this with our kids. To support families, PEPS is offering a safe space for LGBTQIA+ families in the PEPS community to connect with other parents, share their concerns, and participate in group discussions on various related topics.  

Facilitators will be on hand to guide conversation and connection in multiple virtual breakout rooms. Parents and caregivers will be able to move between online rooms to participate in discussions on Action Opportunities in Affected Communities, Addressing Homophobia to Kids, Parenting a Child Who Identifies as LGBTQIA+, and Community Building.

Event Details

What: A virtual conversation led by trained facilitators on discussion topics: Action Opportunities in Affected Communities, Addressing Homophobia to Kids, Parenting a Child Who Identifies as LGBTQIA+, and Community Building. Attendees will participate in breakout rooms for small-group discussions and can move freely between each virtual room.

Who: The discussion will be tailored for parents and caregivers who identify as LGBTQIA+ or those caring for children who identify as LGBTQIA+. 

When: Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 6:30 - 8 pm. Please note that this workshop will not be recorded.

Cost: This workshop is being offered at no cost to attendees thanks to our generous PEPS donors and supporters who make it possible for PEPS to offer free events like this to our community. Please join them by making a gift. 

Where: In the comfort of your own home! This event is being offered virtually. Registered participants will receive a Zoom link and password to maintain the privacy and security of the call.
