Undoing Racism and Teaching Equity to Our Children

Families of Color Seattle (FOCS) Event

As parents, we have a responsibility to talk with our children - early and often - about racism. With our guidance, young children can learn to stand up against and dismantle racism alongside us. No matter where you are in your journey of learning, analysis and action against inequity and racism, there are tools and resources that can further inform your education, actions, and decisions.

Join us for a virtual presentation and workshop led by Families of Color Seattle (FOCS) to learn how we can talk about racial identity, racism, and equity with children.

Trained facilitators from FOCS will be our guides in conversations to grow our understanding of oppression and systemic racism. We will have dialogue to deepen our self-awareness of race, power, and privilege. And, we will explore ways to create inclusive and antiracist learning spaces for children.

Through listening, discussion and role playing, participants will leave feeling compelled and equipped with the tools to support kids in the wake of racialized violence, identify and counter bias, undo racism, and teach equity to their children.
