PAT Workshops

PEPS offers 1.5-hour workshops for Parents of Adolescents & Teens (PAT). These virtual workshops complement our 4- and 9-week PAT Program series and are available to anyone who may not be able to attend those programs or for any parent or caregiver who is interested in learning through this alternate format.

These sessions provide parents raising adolescents and teens with an opportunity to share and learn within a small group setting on popular topics such as adolescent brain science, adolescent substance use, helping adolescents cope with stress, and more.

Each PAT workshop is led by a trained facilitator and structured similarly to any PEPS Group meeting, including sharing Highs and Lows and group discussions. These 1.5-hour sessions are a great way for families to experience a PAT Group in a shorter format and learn which themes and topics would interest them to learn more about. Participants attend without adolescents and teens in attendance, with up to 25 families participating in each workshop.

The fee for PAT workshops is $20* per family, and the fee is the same for 1-parent or 2-parent attendance. Financial assistance is available. Please contact PEPS staff at  for details.

Workshops will be offered throughout the year. Sessions fill quickly – register today to secure your spot!

This session will equip you with practical tools to foster productive discussions with your teen on substances.

The Science of Teen Decision-Making: Understanding the Adolescent Brain

Have you ever wondered why your teenager makes certain choices, especially risky or impulsive ones? You will gain insight into the science of adolescent brain development and learn how it impacts their decision-making.

Navigating the Changing Worlds of Adolescents

Adolescence is a time of navigating complex social dynamics—popularity, rejection, shifting friendships, peer pressure, and even bullying. As teens work toward independence and autonomy, your role as a parent remains vital. In this workshop, we'll explore strategies to support and guide your tween or teen as they face these challenges, both in the real world and online. Learn how to stay connected and provide the guidance they need to thrive in these formative years.

Effective Coping Strategies for Adolescent Stress

Stress and anxiety are increasingly common among adolescents, impacting both their mental and physical health. These challenges, which have only intensified since the pandemic, are a growing concern. Join us to learn more about how stress manifests in teens, how to recognize the signs and symptoms, and when medical intervention may be necessary. You’ll leave with practical coping strategies teens can use on their own, as well as tools and techniques for parents to support their children through stressful times.
