A message from the PEPS Board President, Mary Ellen Cunningham

Dana Guy, Executive Director
After a thoughtful, inclusive process, I am excited to share with you that the PEPS Board of Directors has hired current PEPS Deputy Director, Dana Guy, to serve as our next Executive Director.

A note from Dana:

For more than 35 years, PEPS has had an incredible impact on tens-of-thousands of families, but we know there are many families whom we have not served or not served well. We can and must do better. In 2016, PEPS made an explicit commitment to prioritizing racial equity in all aspects of our work, and this year, PEPS board and staff channeled what we’ve learned from parents and organizations across the community into a clear strategic vision for the future. I’m thrilled to lead PEPS as we put this strategic direction into action. We’ll grow our reach and impact, innovate how we support parents, advocate for more equitable policies and strengthen our organizational effectiveness. With our talented staff (pictured above right), board and vital community partners, PEPS will work towards our vision of resilient families, connected communities, and equitable outcomes for all.

Dana is an experienced leader who will skillfully guide PEPS in realizing its long-term strategic vision. She is passionate about parent support and shares our deep commitment to racial equity and eliminating disparities for our region’s families. She has been consistently recognized as an exceptional relationship builder, skilled at forging strong, trusting partnerships within the organization and the larger community. Dana has the critical skills and experience to lead PEPS through this next exciting chapter.

After participating in a PEPS group and then volunteering as a group leader, Dana came to work for PEPS in 2011 as the Communications Manager. Since then, she has adeptly worn many hats, including Director of Operations and Communications, Deputy Director, and Acting Executive Director. Among her many achievements, she moved the organization to integrated technology allowing PEPS to respond more effectively to parents and implemented a flexible pricing model to increase access to PEPS. She has played a key role in building a supportive and inclusive organizational culture for PEPS staff and collaboratively re-designed and rolled out a staffing structure that created a closer connection with communities.

Additionally, Dana brings an array of experience in nonprofit leadership, communications, and fundraising outside of her work at PEPS. She is on the Board of Directors for the Service Board (tSB), an organization committed to equity that provides access to outdoor adventures, social and environmental justice learning, mentorship and community building to Seattle area youth. She served as Board Chair in 2018.

Please join us in welcoming Dana into this new role at PEPS. We know her dedication to our mission, commitment to racial equity, and inclusive leadership style will propel PEPS towards a future in which all our region’s families have access to a healthy, supported start in life.

If you would like to connect with Dana, we welcome you to reach out to her at danag@peps.org.

Thank you for your past and future support of PEPS!
