Communications and Marketing Coordinator

PEPS is seeking a Communications and Marketing Coordinator.

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator supports external communication of the PEPS mission, vision, values, programs, and commitment to racial equity. This person will create and execute consistent and inclusive communications and marketing. An excellent written and verbal communicator, this person will develop engaging content across multiple platforms and approach their work with a sense of innovation and a desire to experiment. The Coordinator will collaborate with the Director of Communications and Marketing to build a deep understanding of the PEPS mission and strategic goals, and will prioritize racial equity in their work.

The PEPS mission is to connect parents to strengthen families and build community. Since 1983, the Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS), a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, has helped parents connect and grow as they begin their journey into parenthood. PEPS parent support programs educate, inform, and create community. We have become a vital resource for new parents in the Puget Sound region, with parent groups serving thousands of families annually.

Core Responsibilities

  • Promote the PEPS mission, programs, events, resources, and advocacy through digital marketing channels.
  • Draft and publish content across social media channels to engage the PEPS community.
  • Write and develop short and long-form content that tells the story of PEPS and the families we serve.
  • Coordinate and create engaging content across multiple monthly email newsletters.
  • Assist in production and execution of printed/online communications and marketing activities.
  • Measure and evaluate results of communications and marketing content

CORE Skills and Qualifications

  • Outstanding direct knowledge and experience creating content with measurable results across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WordPress, and others.
  • Experience using social media scheduling tools like Facebook Creator Studio and Later, as well as design tools like Canva.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize day-to-day tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Commitment to operating with a racial equity lens.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work in our Seattle office, once required.


  • 2+ years working experience in the communications and marketing field.

This position will be 30-40 hours a week. The number of hours will be discussed during the interview process.

All PEPS staff are currently working remotely and will likely continue to do so through 2021. When staff return to normal operations, this job will require a minimum of 50% in-office presence during our business hours.

The expected pay range for this position is $21-$25 per hour, plus employee health benefits, paid parental leave, and retirement matching. PEPS offers 10 paid office closures, 15 days of accrued paid time off, and 2 floating personal days. PEPS also offers a collaborative and family-friendly working environment that values flexibility and professional development for staff. The PEPS main office is located in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle, with a satellite office in South Seattle.
