“The leader for my Peps Group was fantastic... she was educated, informative, caring, so helpful and really took a personal interest in each and every one of the mom's (and babies) in the group.
She was super proactive in providing resources to us and in bringing in guest speakers. She was also a fantastic listener. She was very genuine and you could tell she really put time and preparation into her role as our leader. She cultivated a great dynamic with the group as well. I couldn't have been happier.

Lead A Group
Group leader volunteers are what makes the PEPS model work. PEPS believes that mothers and fathers are uniquely qualified to support each other in addressing the challenges of early parenthood. Each year group leaders log over 9,800 hours serving new parents—that's equivalent to five people working full time jobs. Learn more about what it's like to facilitate a PEPS group, leader requirements, training, resources and benefits.
Special Events
Join the planning committee for PEPS' upcoming fundraising and community-building events:
- PEPSapolooza Family Music Festival - Saturday, August 11, 2012
Help the PEPS staff orchestrate the event that best fits with your schedule. Please contact events@peps.org for more information.
Guest Speakers
PEPS welcomes local professionals to speak at our groups on topics key to parenting babies. Highly desired topics include: Brain Development and Early Learning, Couples' Relationship Skills, Self Care for Parents, Infant Safety and CPR and Infant Health. We have a strict no-sales policy at our groups, and speakers must be current with the Pertussis booster. Please read our Introduction for Guest Speakers. If interested, complete the Application and Speaker Agreement and return it to Cate Palmer.
PEPS Office
Help with behind the scenes work and special projects at PEPS’ main office in Wallingford. Regularly scheduled and as-need positions are available. Data entry, filing etc. Please email Cate Palmer to volunteer.
Ambassadors
Many parents' appreciation for PEPS is so strong that they would like to stay involved with the organization beyond continuing to meet with their groups. For those already familiar with PEPS, it may seem like "everybody" knows about PEPS, but actually we serve just 10% of families having first babies in the greater Seattle area. PEPS serves more families every year and much of this growth is driven by the strength of personal recommendations. So don't be shy, spread the good word about PEPS!
Visit our Ambassadors page for specific ways you can help.
Board of Directors and Committee Members
The women and men on our board lend their passion, skills and expertise to help guide PEPS in many respects, from operational oversight to strategic planning. The key requirement for PEPS board members is a passion for the organization, our mission and community of parents.
If you'd like to serve PEPS in this important capacity, we'd love to hear from you. We are currently recruiting individuals with experience in, finance/accounting, non-profit governance, fundraising, social media, event planning, graphic design, human resources, and the ability to help PEPS grow in Snohomish County and on the Eastside.
If interested, please download a Board Member Application. Please return completed applications via email to Alicechandra Fritz, Board Development Chair, or mail to the PEPS office at 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N., #324, Seattle, WA 98103.
