ADJUSTING TO PARENTHOOD

PEPS and Postpartum Support Int’l of WA offer a twice monthly group, offering parents additional support for the emotional changes and challenges of adapting to parenthood. >> Learn More

Little Peppers is a group where parents meet, share, and learn about the joys and challenges of parenting two young children. Groups are led by a professional facilitator. Each session includes sharing your parenting highs and lows from the week, songs and play time for the children, breaks for socializing and a group discussion on a subject directly related to the adventure of parenting.

Babies and children remain in the room with their parents for the entire meeting. (It makes for quite a busy and exciting morning!) Toys are provided, and you are also welcome to bring your own, if your child is comfortable sharing them.

Little Peppers is open to all families with 2 children under age three (at the time the group begins): most families have one young baby and one toddler/pre-schooler; but groups also include families with twin toddlers, or with one older baby, and one pre-schooler. Parents typically attend with both children although you may choose to attend with only 1 child if that works for your family's schedule.

All parents are welcome at Little Peppers sessions, though the majority of attendees are moms. If you are interested in a siblings group where you can attend with just your new baby, please check out 2nd Time Around.

Cost

  • $170 per family for an eleven-week program (spring, fall, or winter session)
  • $145 per family for the eight-week summer session

Payment is due at time of registration.

Your payment can be refunded if you cancel at least three weeks before the group begins. If a group does not meet its minimum enrollment, as rarely happens, we will cancel it - in this case, you could either choose a different group to attend, or receive a full refund.

Reduced Fees for South Snohomish County Residents: Thanks to a generous grant from the Verdant Health Commission, families who live in the Public Hospital District 2 boundaries qualify for a reduced program fee. >>Click here to find out if you are eligible.

To apply for a scholarship: Fill out the registration form, then email our Program Coordinator, Cari Morales (carim@peps.org), before making payment so that your scholarship application can be reviewed and the scholarship amount applied.

Scholarships

PEPS is committed to serving every family who wishes to join our community. We happily provide scholarships, supported by our generous donors. Scholarships are income-based, and typically cover amounts equal to 25%-75% of tuition fees, with full scholarships in special situations. So, even if you don't think of yourself as "low income," if the regular fee is going to be a stretch for you financially, please apply for a scholarship.

** Bright Horizons Centers require all parents and children who attend PEPS Groups must be current on their vaccinations.

Please note: Due to the current epidemic of Pertussis (Whooping Cough) in Washington State, PEPS has implemented a policy requiring that all adults who attend PEPS Groups must be current on their Tdap booster. Getting vaccinated with Tdap at least two weeks before coming into close contact with an infant is especially important for families with and caregivers of new infants. All babies must be current on the DTaP vaccine once they are old enough for the first dose. Families who do not comply with this policy cannot participate in PEPS at this time.  If you have any questions about this policy, please contact Mary Power, PEPS Program Director: maryp@peps.org.

Child Care

Little Peppers facilitators are incredibly skilled at leading activities and discussion that accommodate newborns, toddlers and parents together. Babies and toddlers remain in the room with parents, and parents are responsible for supervising their children.

Some second-time parents prefer to attend a Newborn Group or a Second Time Around Group with just their new baby, while their older one is at daycare or with a family member. You may also choose to attend Little Peppers with only your baby (or only your toddler) if that works for your schedule.
