FAQs
Frequently asked questions about PEPS
How did PEPS come about?
In 1982, acknowledging how tough it is to be a new parent, a group of concerned local residents came up with the idea of PEPS postpartum support groups. Since then, we have grown and exanded, but we've always stayed true to the original intent of the founders, which was to provide a supportive place for parents to share and learn from each other. All the details on our history can be found here.
Where are PEPS groups? Does PEPS serve the Eastside? Does PEPS serve Snohomish County?

Is PEPS an all-volunteer effort?
No. Although we couldn't achieve our mission without the incredible support of our volunteers, PEPS has a small and very hard-working staff that makes sure everything runs smoothly and that we will be able to continue supporting parents for years to come.
Why does PEPS charge a program fee?
PEPS is a non-profit organization that depends on a mix of fees and contributions. Fees covers part of the cost of programs (about 66%), with the balance being underwritten through the generosity of past participants and others who believe in what we do. No one is denied placement due to inability to pay; partial or full scholarships are available for qualifying families.
Does PEPS offer Moms-only / Dads-only groups?
All parents are welcome to attend all groups. Our daytime groups are primarily mothers; evening groups are an even mixture of new mothers and new fathers.
