Development Assistant

PEPS is searching for an efficient, motivated, multi-tasking, and data-loving fundraising professional to join our team. We are seeking someone who will bring strong organizational and database skills to advancing the PEPS fund development plan, with a primary focus on stewardship. The Development Assistant manages the gift entry and acknowledgement process and supports PEPS development events. The ideal candidate will promote a culture of philanthropy, teamwork, wellness, and inclusion and is looking for a position with opportunity to grow. Our Mission

Since 1983, PEPS has worked to bring new parents out of isolation, support family wellness, and promote parental resilience through community-based parent peer support groups. PEPS is a leader in the field of new-parent support, and is one of the only organizations offering support programs that are open to all new parents in our region.

The PEPS mission is to enable parents of infants and young children to build communities that empower them to meet the challenges of parenting through mutual support and sharing of information. We fulfill our mission by offering peer support groups for new parents grounded in the research-based Strengthening Families™ Framework and by partnering with other organizations to help them to deliver parent peer support programs to their clients.

The Role of the Development Assistant

  • Responsible for the PEPS gift stewardship process including consistent gift entry, gift reporting, and personal gift acknowledgement.
  • Manages and owns documentation of PEPS gift stewardship processes.
  • Assists with all donor cultivation efforts.
  • Assists Finance & Administrative Coordinator and Development Director with routine gift reconciliation activities.
  • Responsible for accurate donor data management and database cleanup.
  • Assists with and supports the execution of PEPS Development events.
  • Produces datasets from CRM for events, appeals and mailers.
  • Manages the PEPS donor data analysis process.
  • Communicates with PEPS donors and funders respectfully and ensures confidentiality.
  • Provides general administrative support to development team.
  • Attends routine development team and staff meetings.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience and fluency in working with a fundraising database system or CRM; openness to continually improve database management skills.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated efficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability and willingness to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional customer service and donor relation skills.
  • Ability to problem solve with speed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and growth.

Education and Experience

  • College degree is a plus, but demonstrated experience and competency is of the most value to us.
  • CRM and computer experience required.
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising and development a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a part-time position (18-24 hours/week, in office approximately 3-4 days a week), during regular business hours. Number of hours will be discussed during the interview process. The expected pay range for this part-time position will be $19-$22 per hour, plus employee health benefits, retirement matching and paid leave. PEPS offers an inspiring, collaborative, family-friendly working environment that values flexibility and professional development for staff. The PEPS office is located in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle.
