Communications Manager

PEPS is searching for a Communications Manager to help effectively tell our story to participants, volunteers, funders and partners. An ideal candidate loves writing and editing and is a master multi-tasker who thrives when juggling deadlines and projects. In this position collaboration is critical – PEPS communications span teams across the entire organization. The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing an overall communications and marketing strategy. We are seeking someone with a commitment to communicating inclusively, raising up diverse stories and perspectives, and applying an equity lens to communications.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead marketing and communications planning and strategy.
  • Develop and execute an organization-wide communications plan.
  • Oversee PEPS brand.
  • Develop and manage inclusive, engaging content to build and maintain a consistent, balanced voice and brand.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to share stories and impact across various platforms.
  • Implement marketing and advertising for PEPS Groups and events.
  • Manage social media channels, website and blog.
  • Produce materials for community engagement at fairs/conferences/community events.
  • Serve as copy-editor for various communications.
  • Execute cross-marketing and communications activities for sponsors, program and marketing partners.
  • Manage writers, designers and other contractors.
  • Manage communications and messaging for PEPS Annual Luncheon.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve PEPS marketing & communications.
  • Manage media inquiries.

Core Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient and experienced writer.
  • Strong experience with social media.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day tasks while seeing the big picture across the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite, SharePoint, and able to leverage technology to streamline processes.
  • A demonstrated passion for families, parents and children.
  • Strong understanding of the PEPS mission, programs, and impact.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Marketing/Communications or 3 years of managing communications or marketing for a business or non-profit organization.
  • Marketing/communications experience in a cross-functional environment.

Compensation and Benefits

This position will be 32-40 hours a week. Number of hours per week will be discussed during the interview process. The job requires an in-office presence 75% of the time, during regular business hours. The expected salary range for this is $38,800 (this is the starting salary for a person working 32 hours a week) to $49,000 (starting salary for a person working 40 hours per week), plus employee health benefits, retirement matching, and paid leave. The PEPS office is located in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle.
